Shuttle Unable to Land
Well, today the shuttle was unable to land. I woke up at 4:00 a.m. to see it and they had already delayed it for 90 minutes becuase of the clouds, but then after a little bit more waiting, Mision Control said that they could land if they had to, but they were unsure about the rain that could come. Rain damages the heat sheild on the shuttle, and they didn't want to do that, but they also wanted a 100% safe landing after Columbia. NASA is going to try again tomorrow at almost the same time, actually about twenty minutes later than today and there are three possible landing spots. The prime in, KSC in Florida, then the second choice is California, and the third is in New Mexico. NASA really wants to land in Florida though. In the meanwhile, Eileen Collins and her crew are cleaning up their shuttle and preparing for tomorrow. Everything is stowed away, (like the Ku antenna) so there isn't much more packing. Looks like it'll be a relaxing day to do some oceanography and photography. And IIII will be reading all of the day's status reports to see how every day went, (I didn't do it while it was happening, ooops!!)Also, later I will be posting all the songs that Discovery woke up to during the two weeks they were gone. You will most likely be able to buy them on iTunes, I will try to link them.
As for life outside of NASA, well, nothing is happening. I should really do my summer reading, but both of the
books supposively suck and I don't want to write the reports. Agh...Well summer is coming to a close, we have a little less than a month left of summer, so I have to spend my time wisely. Yes well it's time to go and get on with my day!
Bye...
